Postition reports to: Chief Operations Office/Medical Director
Salary: $90,750 pr/yrPosition Summary:
A Staff Physician will provide clinical case management support to staff providers; provide primary and family planning care to SBFHC’s patients; interface with management to provide clinical input on the development and implementation of policies and procedures; meet with providers on an ongoing, regular basis to discuss concerns and opportunities for care improvements; perform patient assessments, physical examinations, order/perform necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests, proficiency testing, prescribe and dispense medications in compliance with SBFHC’s established medical protocols.Qualifications:
- Valid license in state of California with no pending or previous disciplinary action from any state licensing entity.

Pediatrician (1 part-time – 0.40 FTE, exempt position)

Mid-Level Clinician (1 full-time, non-exempt position)
Position reports to: Chief Operations Officer/Medical Director
Salary: $36.54 pr/hrPosition Summary:
The Mid-Level Clinician will provide medical care to patients seeking services at South Bay Family Health Care (SBFHC). They will perform assigned responsibilities under the supervision of the Medical Director and Chief Operations Officer in accordance with SBFHC’s established medical protocols and in compliance with government agencies medical protocols and guidelines; participate as a member of the clinical team responsible for peer review, clinical policy and procedure implementation and maintenance; facilitate a smooth flow of patients; and work within the organization by interacting well with clients, patients, staff members and other providers.Qualifications:
- Current California license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Current furnishing number or DEA certificate, as appropriate to licensure.
- One year clinical experience in area of specialty.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art medical scientific and treatment methods in area of specialty, and an awareness of current medical, educational and psychosocial intervention procedures.

Human Resources Assistant (1 part-time, 24 hrs, non-exempt position)
Position reports to: Human Resources Director and Chief Compliance Officer
Salary: $15.00 pr/hrPosition Summary:
Provide professional administrative support to the Human Resources and Compliance Departments in the areas of employee benefits administration; staff recruitment; employee file maintenance; maintenance of various Excel spreadsheets; organization and maintenance of new hire and employee benefits materials and supplies; monthly staff birthday recognition. The duties of this position will also include filing, routine correspondence and photocopying; assistance with special projects; other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- AA or BA/BS preferred but would consider high school diploma/GED with commensurate experience.
- 2-3 years previous assisting experience.
- Previous experience with employee benefits administration preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of correct English usage including grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Proficient in operating basic office software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and be familiar with basic office equipment.

Medical Records Clerk (1 full-time, non-exempt position)
Position reports to: Clinic Services Manager
Salary: $10.25 pr/hrPosition Summary:
The Medical Records Clerk will prepare patient charts, registration forms and Superbills, and ensure all documents are properly filed and presented in the patient charts.Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 6 months work experience in a clinic, medical office or other health care facility.

Behavioral Health Specialist (1 part-time position – 0.40 FTE, exempt position)
Position reports to: Psychologist, Social Services Director
Salary: $22,667 per yearPosition Summary:
The Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for working in concert with SBFHC’s Psychologist, Social Services Director, Clinicians and Patient Care Specialists to provide behavioral health and psychotherapy to the patients of SBFHC’s primary care program, as well as to underserved community members in need of mental health services.Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the assessment, planning, arranging, and implementing of psychosocial interventions.
- Perform short term counseling and crisis intervention, as necessary.
- Conduct a limited number of home visits to older patients, if needed.
- Spearhead education and counseling programs for both individual patients or groups of patients and serve as liaison to community, individuals and groups as appropriate.
- Counsel patients and interpret to professional and lay groups the special psychosocial needs of patients by identifying psychosocial disorders.
- Provide support to patients who want to improve health outcomes.
- Collect information related to psychosocial status and patterns of population groups as directed.
- Review and evaluate recent psychosocial health research and interpret it to professionals and patients.
- Prepare psychosocial educational materials as needed or required.
- Coordinate with clinical, health education, community health and other staff members in the provision of services to patients. Provide referrals for services needed.
- Coordinate with other organizational entities involved in psychosocial and mental health services.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Masters Level Social Worker with valid LCSW license from the state of California with no pending or previous disciplinary action from any state licensing entity.
- Experience working with underserved populations preferred.
- Knowledge of current educational and psychosocial intervention procedures.
- Knowledge of basic technology and technological systems.
- Ability to perform clinical responsibilities within the organization’s established guidelines in an organized, efficient manner.

A Medical Assistant will prepare patient/client for clinician visit; review medical assessment and history forms; perform general nursing duties and oversee receipt of diagnostic studies; provide assigned program health education information within funding program guidelines to SBFHC clients and community members; facilitate the smooth flow of clients and patients and work within the organization by interacting well with patients, clients, staff members and providers.Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assisting program.
- At least 6 months work experience in a clinic, medical office or other health care facility.

Billing Director (1 full-time position)
Position reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary:
Manage all aspects of SBFHC’s Billing operations including the examination, correction and update of billing information to ensure accurate submission/mailing of all third party claims; process third party refunds, resolve third party carrier inquires; prepare and submit weekly/monthly billing reports as requested; identify and resolve unpaid claims.Qualifications:
- 3 years hands on medical billing experience in a medical practice, clinic or hospital setting.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but will consider commensurate experience .
- Experience with MediCal, Medicare and private payer sources a must.
- A/R management expertise, compliance knowledge, effective communication and problem solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, terms and abbreviations; ICD-9, CM and CPT coding rules; solid understanding of the mechanics of HMO’s and IPA’s and PPO’s; Medicare/Medicaid regulations; proper billing methods; applicable fair debt and collection laws; computer functions and applications.
- Ability to serve as a clinic advocate; recognize and correct costly billing errors; speak and write effectively; use initiative; multi-task; create a team environment with co-workers and other staff members; establish good communication with clinicians; maintain organized and accurate records; employ tact, be persuasive and assertive; master coding for better reimbursement, maintain up to date payer changes and adjust procedures as appropriate; establish a tracking system to manage unpaid accounts; consistently build goodwill and trust between clinic and third party payers.
