HealthY Kids Express
The “Healthy Kids Express” is a mobile health care center sponsored by South Bay Family Health Care that provides immunizations, well-child exams and care for sick children weekly at several Hawthorne School District elementary schools, as well as a variety of community events and health fairs.
The van is 38 feet long and has two full exam rooms, each with exam table and all features necessary to conduct pediatric exams. The van also has two refrigerators and freezers on board, one for lab specimens
and one for medication and vaccines. Additionally, the van is equipped with a back-up generator, oxygen tank and fire extinguishers.
Van staff consists of a pediatrician, a driver/manager/enroller and two medical assistants.
